Why did I quit my 9-5 job and moved to Asia?

Blog Introduction Post:

Motswana Travels

Is a series of my travels through out South East Asia. This blog contains personal thoughts and experiences about me, we all have different feelings towards some things but these are mine.

Who am I and where am I going?
First of all am from Botswana a landlocked country surrounded by South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and Robert Mugabe nation oops! I mean Zimbabwe *giggles*. I'm delighted to be from this land of diamonds and last year 2015 the second largest diamond in the world was found there. I spent 4 years in Asia in the years 2007- 2011 and coming back is like wow!!
Travelling has made me more proud of my country and I have seen how peaceful it is as a lot people view Africa as one country. I'm a newbie at this blog thing excuse my style of expression. PROUD AFRICAN
It's been 9 months since I left Botswana to travel South East Asia. Quitting my job was the easiest thing to do as I was not inspired anymore and spending 8 hours a day of my life swamped (I was on the get pay, pay bills and get broke circle). I was miserable, I was employed as an ICT officer  at a locally owned private company dealing with asserts management as a core service. Thanks to my good old friend whom has been my friend for OVER 10 YEARS for giving me the courage to be free and travel. You can read all about his travels here nesrop.

How did I do it?
BMW 318 (my first car)

I started saving my monthly salary and I finally sold my first beloved car BMW 318i and bought that flight ticket.
Yes I had doubts about my future but you know what? That was actually the first time I felt alive, I felt courageous and better off. As you all know the easiest job you can get while travelling in Asia is teaching so I enrolled for a teaching course called TEFL. I got a job and started earning and travelling around Thailand.

Why Thailand?

Are you seriously going to ask me that? Have you seen the movie "The beach" starring Leo DiCaprio? I saw the movie and I got to see how amazing this place is. The beaches are so amazingly beautiful. It's called "the land of smile" because they believe it can cure anything. I felt welcomed the day I saw everybody smiling at me, It felt like they knew I was coming (lol) little did I know . Cost of living in Thailand is really low I mean you can survive on 15,000.00 bahts monthly (roughly 430 usd) that's all depending on your lifestyle.

Inspiration
The day you find yourself is the day you start living. These past months I honestly learnt more about myself e.x 1. The things I want to do before I meet my maker,
2. The kind of job I want and I haven't thought about having a family because I am doing me right now. No funny possessions just me, my laptop, mobile phone and that lightweight backpack.

I live by this philosophy "to live is to be free" working Monday to Saturday and earning peanuts (of which you can't make peanut butter out of it) it's really depressing. You don't have time for your family nor for yourself.
